| “The Matrix” may be only a movie, but there are parallels with membership in the LDS church. In the movie, Neo meets Morpheus and is offered an opportunity and a choice. Neo can take the red pill and see the truth for himself, or he can take the blue pill and return, comfortably unaware, to the illusion of the Matrix. We have not been told the whole story about church beginnings, doctrinal modifications, lives of key players. The wool has indeed been pulled over our eyes by way of white-washing, sanitizing, altering LDS church history in order to make it acceptable. The truth with regards to the Mormon Matrix can be a bitter pill, yet the trip down the rabbit hole is worth it. |
